The plan was to get the fire extinguisher installed today, but everywhere I wanted to put it was just a bit too much “in the way” of things like control sticks etc…
Frustrated, I decided to take the top off and see about removing the defunct transponder. As I was working away at the spaghetti that represented the old transponder, encoder, and antenna, a student of mine from Action Ultralights came over and offered a hand. I was very appreciative of Ken’s help as even the two of us needed a couple of hours, I can only imagine how long it could have taken if I was alone.
In the end, we managed to get it out in one piece (would have been very quick if I had decided to just use cutters), re-zap-strapping the wiring as we went.
